SYMONS, A.J.A. [Alphonse James Albert] (1900-1941). Writer, gourmet, dandy and bibliophile. Autograph Letter Signed ('A.J.A. Symons') in his large calligraphic hand, to Michael Holland, 2 pages 4to, The First Edition Club, Little Russell Street, 24 July 1933. Explaining that the Gosse menage 'had fixed visitors to call on Sunday', that he would not be able to introduce Holland to his friends, and talking of finishing his book. 'I venture to enclose, over the page, a translation of Heine's exquisite little poem called Wo?. It is to be found at the end of vol. 16 of his complete works ... I may be tempted to send you some more version of an author especially dear to me.' The letter is tipped to the remains of an album leaf. [No: 26684] The first image is of the second page.
