SEDGWICK, Catherine Maria (1789-1867). American author.
Autograph Letter Signed to John O'Sullivan, 3 pages 8vo with integral address-leaf (small tear in top margin and stain probably caused by removal of the stamp), no place, no date. Sending a piece for publication ('If you have an empty space in your Magazine & nothing better wherewith to fill it'), and asking O'Sullivan to proofread itfor her as her eyes are too weak for the task.

Addressed to 'My dear friend' and concluding with a postscript longer than the letter itself.
'... when I had finished I felt that 'Cousin Frank' was too genial a gentleman for the Ladies' Companion' - but there he must go if you do not receive him.'
