Typewritten Letter Signed to J Grigor, 1 page 4to on black-edged paper, Lincolns Inn Fields, 9 December 1912. Discussing the possibility of establishing a Labour daily paper.

'... For some years the Independent Labour Party and the Labour Party have been considering a daily paper and previous to the Osborne Judgment the Labour Party had gone [to] the length of drafting circulars to the Trade Unions. ... When Mr [Kier] Hardie made his proposal we were then considering it ourselves. This is a case when everybody can say: "I originated it."...'

MacDonald's wife Margaret had died the previous year.
