Fine large signature ('Napoleon') as emperor, in ink, from the foot of a document, dated at St Cloud, 8 Germinal An 13 [29 March 1805]. On an irregular piece, laid down on the remains of an album leaf, with a note of identification attached. Countersigned by Hughes-Bernard Maret (1763-1839, later duc de Bassano) as secretary of state.
