McCORMACK, John (1884-1945). Irish tenor.
Photograph signed ('John Count McCormack'), probably from a programme, ca 210 x 165mm (8½ x 6½ inches). A half-length photograph of McCormack in a three-piece suit, signed across the shoulders.
McCormack was particularly proud of the hereditary title of papal count, awarded by Pope Pius XI in 1928. In 1939, he was further honoured by becaming a privy chamberlain of cape and sword to the pope.
